Module 1: Fundamentals of Supply Chain Management

In this module, you will understand the basic concepts in managing the flow of materials through the entire chain from the initial supplier to the end-user in different operational contexts of the aerospace industry. You gain exposure to leading practices from other sectors and state-of-the-art advancements in manufacturing and distribution.

In Module 1, you will learn:

• Broad concepts of supply chain management, including primary processes, objectives, integration methods, and benefits 
• Alignment of the supply chain with aerospace business strategies and operating models
• Key considerations for supply chain design, continuous improvement, and MRO environments
• Key measures for planning and controlling inventories
• Fundamentals of logistics in supply chain management
• Identifying and managing market segments
• Demand forecasting and management techniques

Module 2: Aerospace Supply Chain Strategy, Design, and Compliance

Leading intensive supply chain operations requires a firm understanding of strategic choices, trade-offs, implications, and unforeseen consequences. This module focuses on strategic management and leveraging insights from external factors, such as market signals, network interactions, contested arenas, and industry forces at work.

In Module 2, you will learn:

• Sustainability practices in the design and operation of a supply chain
• Risk, its sources, impacts, and mitigation methods
• Globally dispersed supply and demand, and the implications of free trade zones and trading blocs
• Globalization effects on inbound and outbound logistics
• Advanced capacity dynamics: forward-deployed fleets, goods, and teams
• Measurement of, and efficiency and responsiveness in the supply chain
• Technologies for design, data, operations, and communications in supply chain management
• Factors influencing demand, including design, marketing, selling, and matching customer orders
• Core concepts of CRM, including strategies, technologies, and critical implementation challenges
• Fundamentals of supplier relationship management (SRM), including strategic choices, improved management of sources, relevant technologies and measurement

This module focuses on strategic management and leveraging insights from external factors, such as market signals, network interactions, contested arenas, and industry forces at work.

In Module 3, you will learn:

• Supply chain dynamics and the balance of responsiveness and efficiency in a volatile, uncertain, ambiguous, and complex (VUCA) environment
• Supply management from internal and external sources
• Supplier risk, sourcing aircraft-grade materials, and counterfeit components or commodities
• Implementation of demand plans, including prioritization and fulfillment, and capturing and communicating demand or replenishment data
