Who participates in these programs?

What are the available course formats?

What technology is needed to access courses?
The majority of our online classes use Zoom for course delivery.
Getting Started
Is there an application process?
No, we have open enrollment on a first-come, first-served basis. These are noncredit certificate programs.
How can I pay for courses?
Payment options include:

Can I use a virtual credit card from my company?
Yes, virtual credit cards from your company or tuition assistance programs are accepted. Please be sure to enter the correct billing address your company requires or the credit card transaction may fail.
What is a voucher and how do I use it?
If your employer provides a tuition voucher, you'll need to email the approved voucher to ctme@caltech.edu to complete your enrollment. Program/course information required for a voucher can be found on each specific course page.
Program Requirements
Is there a residential requirement?
No, you can complete public courses online. Some client programs may have segments of their program on-campus at Caltech.
Are there prerequisites for programs?
There are no prerequisites for our noncredit programs. However, “advanced” programs may require background knowledge in the topic.
Certificates and Credits
When will I receive my certificate?
You will receive a digital certificate within 7-10 business days after completing your final course.
Can I earn academic credits?
No, these are noncredit programs.
How do I request a Certificate or Letter of Completion?
Email ctme@caltech.edu to request your certificate and letter of completion.
Additional Information
Do you offer discounts or scholarships?
No, discounts and scholarships are not available for public programs.

How is program content determined?
Content is developed and taught by Caltech CTME or Caltech-affiliated industry experts and is regularly updated based on participant feedback and industry best practices. In some custom programs for client organizations, content may also be developed and delivered by Caltech faculty and researchers.
What happens if a program is canceled?
You will receive a full tuition refund. However, travel and other expenses are not covered.
What time zones are programs in?
Programs are generally conducted in the Pacific Time Zone. Online custom programs may vary.
What were the Post Graduate and Bootcamp programs offered in partnership with Simplilearn?
These were online professional development certificate programs completed between 2020 and 2025, offered by Caltech CTME in collaboration with Simplilearn and delivered through live, virtual, applied-learning formats. The portfolio included Bootcamps in AI & Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, and UI/UX, as well as Postgraduate Certificate Programs in DevOps, Cloud Computing, Data Science and Data Analytics, and AI and Machine Learning.
