Project Costing and Proposal Development

Learn how to evaluate project lifecycle cost, schedule, risk and performance; and how and when to respond to proposal opportunities. Perform the different estimating techniques that are appropriate for specific phases of the project life cycle. 

 

Risk and Opportunity Management

A well-structured and cost-effective risk management program is a necessary ingredient of a successful project. This course provides proven methods and tools for recognizing, assessing, and responding to project risks. Real-life examples are presented from recent aerospace projects. 

 

Detailed Project Planning

This course provides the foundation for successful project planning, including scoping, estimating, budgeting, and scheduling. The course identifies common planning mistakes and pitfalls, and discusses practical work-arounds. 

 

Project Monitoring and Control

This course discusses basic principles for tracking technical efforts against cost, schedule, and performance targets. Emphasis is on reporting progress, identifying performance problems before they become severe, and determining effective recovery approaches. 

 

Managing Multiple Projects

Participants will learn how to use special methodologies and management techniques to successful complete multiple projects.

 

Managing the Software Component of Projects

Participants will learn to better manage the software aspects of projects. They will learn practical tools and techniques for managing software development within a broader project context.

 

Project Earned Value Management

Participants will learn the "early warning" signals allowing them to predict additional funding needed to complete the job based on cost and schedule performance against the project plan.
