To attain the Green Belt certificate, you'll learn the fundamental principles and tools of Lean and Six Sigma. Lean Six Sigma Overview

This module describes the key activities and benefits of Lean Six Sigma. Learn to:

• Recognize challenges in applying LSS to infrastructure development and service delivery
• Define improvement projects which can be addressed by LSS

Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC)

DMAIC refers to the data-driven improvement cycle used for improving, optimizing and stabilizing business processes and designs. Learn to:

• Clearly articulate the business problem, desired end-state, project scope, and project resources/ timeline
• Collect data and objectively establish current baselines as the basis for improvement
• Identify, validate and select root causes to eliminate
• Identify creative solutions to correct and prevent performance problems and defects
• Monitor the improvements to ensure continued and sustainable success

Lean Principles and Practices

Lean focuses on identifying waste in the processes and eliminating or reducing it as much as possible, providing greater customer value at lower costs. This module explains how to design and document processes and products which increase efficiency and reduce customer-perceived waste. Learn to:

• Identify waste in products and processes
• Create products and processes that minimize or eliminate customer-perceived waste

LSS Project Management

This module provides a brief overview of LSS project management principles and practices, to enable improvement projects to be conducted efficiently and effectively. Learn to:

• Recognize the competencies and skills required to be an effective LSS project leader
• Identify LSS project tasks and estimate both duration and costs associated with each task
• Report and communicate progress on LSS projects

All participants will receive a copy of The Certified Six Sigma Green Belt Handbook, published by the American Society of Quality.

The PDUs may be applied by PMI^® Project Management Professionals (PMP^®) towards their maintenance of certification under the PMI^® Continuing Certification Requirements Program.

Grading: This on-demand program is based on a Pass/Fail grading system.
