Dr. Jonathan Cheung is a neuroscientist turned data scientist. He completed his PhD in the lab of Dr. Samuel Andrew Hires at USC, studying how the cortex processes touch information using a combination of time series, video, and behavioral datasets.
He currently works as a specialist solutions architect at Databricks, where he helps some of the top Fortune 500 companies build machine learning and generative AI solutions. Previously, he's worked on projects as a data scientist in the oil & gas (Aramco and British Petroleum), public utilities (Sempra Energy), manufacturing (Taiwan Cement Corporation), and IT and cloud (Structure Research) industries. In these roles, he sat across from clients, both internally and externally, to scope machine learning problems and get these solutions off the ground and into production.
