Russ Rydin combines a robust teaching foundation with extensive engineering expertise, currently serving as an MBSE instructor for Caltech CTME. In this role, he guides system engineers and senior leaders in effectively adopting and implementing MBSE methodologies. Following his impactful teaching contributions, Russ joined Studio SE as a Senior Trainer, where he focuses on developing and enhancing SysML training courses.
Throughout his career in the medical device industry, Russ has held significant roles at leading companies including Edwards Lifesciences, Terumo BCT, Medtronic, and Paragon 28. He has developed innovative products for minimally invasive cardiac surgery, blood management collection and separation technologies, sterile device packaging, and implantable orthopedics, consistently promoting improved systems engineering practices and MBSE philosophies.
Russ earned his bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Utah and a Master of Science in Engineering with an emphasis in product design and development from the University of Wisconsin Platteville. In his leisure time, Russ enjoys woodworking, golfing, and spending time with his pets.
