Ideal for engineering leaders and decision-makers exploring scalable transformation through intelligent systems modeling.
This 90-minute seminar introduces Caltech’s AI-Assisted Model-Based Systems Engineering (AIM) certificate course for groups and enterprise learning. This seminar showcases how generative AI can enhance model development, documentation, and analysis within MBSE workflows. Ideal for engineering leaders and decision-makers exploring scalable transformation through intelligent systems modeling.
This informative seminar provides a high-level walkthrough of the AI-Assisted MBSE (AIM) methodology and its application to systems modeling using Cameo. Participants will explore how AI can accelerate model creation, improve analysis, and support intelligent decision-making. Instructor Doug Rosenberg will demonstrate selected capabilities previewed from the full AIM certificate course. All attendees receive a complimentary copy of his book, AI-Assisted Model-Based Systems Engineering (AIM).
The full 40-hour AI-Assisted MBSE (AIM) certificate course is designed for organizations seeking to build internal capability in AI-enhanced systems engineering. Delivered as a private cohort experience for teams of 15 to 25, the course equips engineering professionals to apply AI-driven techniques within MBSE workflows using Dassault Systèmes’ Cameo and Catia Magic tools. Participants are expected to be familiar with the use of Cameo Modeler for constructing MBSE models prior to class.
While the full AIM certificate course provides hands-on skills and in-depth application, this short seminar helps participants:
Understand the strategic value of AI-assisted MBSE for engineering teams
Examine AI capabilities for accelerating models, analyzing requirements, and supporting design synthesis through AI personas and agents
Learn how organizations can scale intelligent modeling practices with tools like Cameo and Catia Magic
In the full 40-hour AIM certificate program, participants will learn to:
Model system structure, behavior, and requirements using SysML within an AI-enhanced MBSE workflow
Integrate software into systems models to support hardware/software co-design
Apply AI tools to accelerate model creation, analysis, and design decision-making
Leverage AI personas and agents to support collaborative and intelligent engineering processes
Use domain-driven modeling techniques to align architecture with problem-domain abstractions
Structure and refine requirements using AI to identify gaps, including for software systems
Generate and validate use case narratives with AI support, including user interface wireframes
Design scalable logical and physical architectures with AI-assisted trade studies and component selection
Develop behavioral models with state machines and use AI to generate diagrams and embedded code
Perform parametric simulations and constraint analyses with AI support for system optimization
Create AI-assisted test cases, including unit, behavioral, and integration tests
Utilize AI tools for code generation across embedded, interface, and database software components
Understand the capabilities and advancements of SysML v2 for future-ready system modeling
The full 40-hour certificate course includes deep dives, hands-on tool training, and applied exercises covering:
Logical architecture and subsystem modeling
Domain-driven architecture principles
Decomposition into manageable subsystems
Design strategy of using microcontrollers to realize subsystem behavior
State machine-based behavior design
Modeling subsystem logic as state machines
Translating state machines into executable embedded C++ code
AI-assisted requirements modeling
