Do I need to pay for these tools?
No, all the AI tools we cover have free versions, so you can start using them right away. Some offer paid upgrades with additional features, but they aren’t required for this workshop.
Do I need a technical background for this course?
Not at all! This course is designed for beginners and professionals alike. The first three sessions focus on AI tools for content creation, research, and design, which require no prior experience. Final session explores AI tools for career growth—useful for everyone, regardless of technical background.
What if I can’t make a session?
Not a problem. You can skip sessions and watch the recording at your leisure!
Do I have to take the sessions in order?
No, each session is taught by one of our Caltech CTME instructors as a stand-alone session. There is no need to watch them in order.
Will I receive a certificate?
No, since this is a free offering and there are no assignments or attendance requirements, we are unable to offer a certificate. However, Caltech CTME has numerous AI related offerings that you can find here: https://ctme.caltech.edu/ai-machine-learning-certificate-courses
What if I have questions for the instructor or need help during the session?
Learners are encouraged to ask questions! We will also have teaching assistants that will be available during the sessions to help you in a breakout room that is not in the main recorded session.

With thousands of AI tools available, we focused on practical, widely used solutions that enhance productivity, research, design, and automation. This now includes professional development workflows such as job search, résumé creation, and presentations. These are the tools our instructors use regularly and find most effective.
Will the tools change if I re-watch the video in the future?
Absolutely. The only constant in the current AI boom are tool updates. This is why we regularly re-offer the free sessions. As the tools change, so to will our curriculum and sessions.
Will there be homework or assignments?
No, this course is meant to be a catalyst for you to try it out afterwards without worrying about completing assignments.
