Tim Boyd is a technical leader, educator, and speaker with extensive experience leading complex engineering programs across the aerospace and defense industry. He currently serves as a Technical Program Manager on a major space program for Northrop Grumman, where he leads multidisciplinary teams through the development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of mission-critical capabilities. His career spans systems engineering, project and program management, engineering operations, corporate strategy, cybersecurity initiatives, and business development, giving him a broad perspective on the technical, organizational, and leadership factors that drive successful outcomes.
As an instructor, Tim focuses on the intersection of technical excellence and effective leadership. Drawing on practical industry experience and established engineering principles, he helps professionals strengthen their ability to lead teams, navigate ambiguity, influence across organizational boundaries, manage change, and deliver results in complex environments. He has taught and facilitated workshops for engineers, project managers, and leaders across Fortune 500 organizations and is credited with more than 50 technical publications, trade secrets, and workshops.
Tim is a frequent keynote and conference speaker on systems engineering, systems thinking, project and program leadership, emotional intelligence, influence without authority, and organizational leadership. He also hosts Curious and Cuirky, a monthly Caltech CTME podcast exploring leadership, technology, and the decisions that shape innovation. Tim earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the California Institute of Technology and holds a Caltech certificate in Aerospace Project Management.
